Catawba's Robinson Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba guard Caleb Robinson has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week five of the 2021-22 season, the Conference announced today.
Robinson, a freshman from Lake Charles, La., led the Catawba Indians to a pair of SAC victories last week over Limestone (101-97) and Lenoir-Rhyne (91-89). Against Limestone he scored an impressive 42 points with 10 rebounds, a steal, and a block. He shot 84.2 percent from the field and became just the fourth player in Catawba history to score 40-plus points in a game. Robinson added another double-double to his resume for the week with 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Bears. He also had two assists, three steals, and two blocks in the game. He finished the week averaging 30.5 points, 10 rebounds, two steals, one and a half blocks, and an assist.
This is Robinson's first player of the week selection this season.
