Queens' Turner Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens forward Jay'Den Turner has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week 13 of the 2021-22 season, the Conference announced today.
Turner, a sophomore from High Point, N.C., led the No. 17 Royals to a 3-0 record last week with wins over UVA Wise, Catawba, and Carson-Newman. He opened the week with a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds with three assists, three steals, and a block against UVA Wise. Turner then poured in 14 points with nine rebounds, three steals, and a block against Catawba, and he finished the week with seven points, six rebounds, and a steal versus Carson-Newman. For the week he averaged 11.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and an assist while shooting 51.7 percent from the field.
This is Turner's first player of the week selection this season.
