Wingate's Clark Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate guard Destin Clark has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week seven of the 2022-23 season, the Conference announced today.

Clark, a sophomore from Indian Land, S.C., led the Bulldogs to a pair of non-conference wins over Barton (85-71) and Mount Olive (102-90). He averaged 21 points with 9.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and a steal over the two games, knocking down 20 points with four rebounds and eight assists versus Barton, and netting 22 points with 15 rebounds and five assists against Mount Olive. He finished the week going 14-for-21 from the field (66.7 percent) and 13-for-19 (68.4 percent) from the charity stripe.
