Lincoln Memorial Leads After First Day of Food Lion SAC Men’s Golf Championship
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - The Lincoln Memorial University men's golf team shot a 441 (+9) to lead after the first day of the 2010 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament Monday at the Etowah Valley Country Club & Golf Lodge. Lincoln Memorial University leads by seven strokes over two-time tournament champion Newberry (448, +16) on the par-72, 6,796-yard course.
The tournament was delayed an hour to due to frost in the morning and the teams played only a round and a half, compared to its normal two rounds on the first day.
Lenoir-Rhyne University's Jack Garrett is the lone player under par after shooting a 106 (-2). Garrett leads by two shots over Brevard's Joshua Davis, Newberry's Daniel Stanley and Lincoln Memorial's Joshua Cornett, who all shot an even-par 108.
The final 27 holes will be played on Tuesday.
