Tusculum’s Boyd, L-R’s Squires Named SAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week
Tusculum attacker Ben Boyd and Lenoir-Rhyne goalkeeper Alex Squires have been named the SAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

SAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week | Ben Boyd, Tusculum
Boyd led Tusculum to a 2-0 week by scoring eight goals and handing out three assists. He opened the week by tallying five goals and two assists on Wednesday in a 23-6 TC win over Lees-McRae, and then had three goals and an assist on Saturday in a 9-8 Pioneer victory at Young Harris.
Boyd also recorded three ground balls and caused a turnover on the week. He currently leads the SAC with 10 goals and 14 total points.
SAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week | Alex Squires, Lenoir-Rhyne
Squires totaled 20 saves on Saturday against Belmont Abbey, helping guide Lenoir-Rhyne to a 7-6 victory. The junior stopped 76.9-percent of BAC's shots on goal, giving the Bears their first win of the season.
Squires currently has a save percentage of 65.9-percent, which is second-best in the conference.
