Queens Earns NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship Bid
For the first time in school history the Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team will be dancing in the NCAA DII Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament.
INDIANAPPOLIS – For the first time in school history the Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team will be dancing in the NCAA DII Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament. The Royals, ranked ninth in the nation at 12-4 on the season, enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed in the South Region. The Royals will travel to face No. 2 Limestone College, seeded first in the South, on Saturday, May 10. The game time has yet to be determined.
Saturday's game between the Royals and the Saints will be the 13th meeting in history with Limestone holding an 11-1 record. Earlier this season, Queens fell to Limestone by the score of 9-6 in a snow storm.
Since then the Royals collected the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Title along with the SAC Tournament Title. The Saints will also enter Saturday's game having won the regular season title in Conference Carolinas along with the tournament title.
The NCAA championship provides for an eight-team tournament. Four teams from each of the two regions (North and South) are selected to participate in the men's lacrosse championship.
