The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf SAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week, Feb. 23
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – No. 12 Queens' Evan Farkas was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Eric Dolan was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played Feb. 16-22, the League announced today.
Farkas, a senior from Havre de Grace, Md., scored six goals and handed out two assists to lead Queens to a pair of wins last week. Against Coker on Feb. 18, he scored three goals and dished out two helpers in an 11-8 win over the Cobras. He followed that effort with three scores and three ground balls as Queens defeated Pfeiffer 11-10 on Feb. 21. The midfielder fired 12 shots on the week with seven shots on goal. The honor is his first Offensive Player of the Week plaudit this season.
Dolan, a junior from Hopkinton, Mass., posted 22 saves in Queens' two wins last week. He got his week started with nine saves and a 52.9 save percentage against Coker. Three days later vs. Pfeiffer, Dolan saved 13 shots and posted a save percentage of 56.5 in the win. In the two-game span, Dolan saved 55 percent of the shots he faced in his 121:39 minutes in goal. The award is his first Defensive Player of the Week selection this season.
