The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week, Feb. 15

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Austin Murphy was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Queens' Jonathan Paige was named the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played Feb. 8-14, the League announced today.

Murphy, a junior from Orillia, Ontario, was in on eight scores in a narrow loss to nationally ranked Seton Hill on Feb. 13.   The attacker dished out a game-high six assists and put in two scores for the Bulldogs to go along with a pair of ground balls in a 13-12 heartbreaking loss.  The award is his first Offensive Player of the Week nod this season.

Paige, a junior from New Market, Md., won 25-of-28 face-offs and picked up 19 groundballs to help the Royals to a 20-11 win over Alderson-Broaddus on Feb. 13.  He currently tops the South Atlantic Conference in face-offs won with 39-of-44.  The award is his first Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
