Queens Sweeps AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during Feb. 18 through Feb. 24. Queens garnered both the offensive and defensive honors with Quinn Tallant and Kyle Hornik, respectively.
A sophomore attack/midfielder, Tallant helped lead the Royals past nationally-ranked Mount Olive, netting four goals and adding an assist. The Hagerstown, Md. native also collected six ground balls and caused two turnovers against the Trojans. This is Tallant's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
A junior goalkeeper, Hornik recorded nine saves to help the Royals down No. 13 Mount Olive in a tight 10-8 contest. The Hillsborough, N.C. native also scooped up a ground ball in his third win of the season. This is Hornik's second Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season and second consecutive.
