The South Atlantic Conference Announces Men's Lacrosse Astroturf Players of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during the second weekend of the 2021 season. Wingate's Adam Vodovnik garnered the offensive honor, while Catawba's Payton Leonard collected the defensive honor.

A senior attacker Vodovnik, was instrumental in the Bulldogs 20-3 season opener against non-conference opponent Barton this past weekend. The Bloomington, Minn., native netted eight points on six goals while also picking up two assists and one ground ball. This is Vodonvnik's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

A sophomore defender Leonard, helped lead the Catawba Indians to a 13-9 upset over #4 Belmont Abbey this past weekend. The Oak Ridge, N.C., native scored the opening goal while also collecting a pair of turnovers and a pair of ground balls. This is Leonard's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
