Wingate Sweeps South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during the eighth weekend of the 2021 season. Wingate swept both awards with Adam Vodovnik garnering the offensive honor and teammate Reese Orman collecting the defensive honor.
A senior attacker Vodovnik, helped the Bulldogs to a 2-0 conference record this past week. He tallied nine points on eight goals, while also adding five ground balls and one assist in their 21-7 win over Catawba. Vodovnik went on to score three points on three goals, three ground balls and one caused turnover in a 24-3 win over Lincoln Memorial. Overall, theBloomington, Minn., native garnered 12 points on eleven goals while also picking up eight ground balls and one caused turnover and assist each. This is Vodovnik's third Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
A senior defender Orman, was instrumental in securing the Bulldogs two wins over conference opponents Catawba and Lincoln Memorial this past weekend. Overall, the Apple Valley, Minn., native tallied five caused turnovers, seven ground balls and one goal. This is Orman's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
