Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate Earn Bids to 2021 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse teams have earned bids to the 2021 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse South Regional, the NCAA announced Sunday, May 9.
This year's South Atlantic conference Champions the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears were tabbed as the No. 1 seed in the south region, while Wingate earned the No. 2 seed. With the No.1 seed the Bears have earned an automatic bid and will take on the winner of the #4 Mount Olive and #5 Tampa game. The Bulldogs will also head straight to the Quarterfinals where they will take on No. 3 seed Uindy.
The championship provides for a 10-team tournament. Five teams from each of the two regions (North and South) are selected to participate in the men's lacrosse championship. Except for the championship game, all games will be played on the campus of one of the competing teams. First round competition is scheduled for Friday, May 14.
The 2021 DII men's lacrosse championship is Sunday, May 30, at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut.
