Lincoln Memorial's Conroy & Shea, Wingate's Rupprecht Earn South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Varsity Gems Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the fourth week of the 2023 season. Lincoln Memorial's Rhodes Conroy was named the offensive player of the week and teammate Tyler Shea was named the defensive player of the week. Wingate's Dylan Rupprecht was named the specialist of the week. 

Conroy, a sophomore attacker from Kalamazoo, Mich., scored five goals and contributed five assists on 17 shots (10 on goal) for a total of 10 points in wins at Young Harris (10-8) on Tuesday and vs Emmanuel (17-9) on Saturday. He also picked up three ground balls during the week.

Shea, a freshman goalkeeper from Bayville, N.Y., picked up wins in goal at Young Harris on Tuesday and against Emmanuel on Saturday, combining to collect 17 saves while allowing 11 goals for a 60.7 save percentage and 6.51 goals against average.

Rupprecht, a freshman faceoff specialist from Saint Johns, Fla., won 12 of 16 face-offs Saturday, piling up 8 ground balls to help lead No. 8 Wingate to a 20-8 victory in the South Atlantic Conference opener.
