Limestone Wins Regular Season Crown Outright; Seeds Announced for 2024 Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – With a 20-3 win over Mars Hill this evening, the Limestone Saints ran the table and finished a perfect 9-0 to win the South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Regular Season Championship. This is the second SAC regular season title for Limestone, and the first outright crown since they joined the conference four years ago. Limestone also has a perfect 14-0 mark overall.

The No. 2 seed goes to Lenoir-Rhyne who went 8-1 in league play and 13-1 overall. The Bears are also the No. 2 team nationally in the USILA poll. The Bears lone blemish on the season came in a one-goal defeat at Limestone.

The 3-seed was earned by Wingate who ranks No. 8 in the nation. The Bulldogs are 7-2 in SAC play and 10-4 overall with all four losses coming to nationally ranked foes and two coming by one goal.

The 4-seed came down to the season finale. Newberry earned the spot with a victory over Anderson who drops to the five seed. The two will meet in three days in the Quarterfinal round. Coker grabbed the final spot in the conference tournament with a 4-5 SAC record and 6-8 overall mark.  

Limestone and Lenoir-Rhyne each earned a bye to the semifinals. The quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, April 20 at campus sites. Semifinals will also be at campus sites on Wednesday, April 24.  The finals will take place at Sportsplex at Matthews in Matthews, N.C. on April 28.
