Five SAC teams in Men’s Soccer Region Poll
ROCK HILL - The first NCAA Division II men's soccer region rankings were released Tuesday and South Atlantic Conference teams dominates the Appalachian Region.
Five South Atlantic Conference teams are among the top six teams in the rankings.
Carson-Newman is the No. 1 team, followed by Lincoln Memorial, Lenoir-Rhyne and Presbyterian. Alderson-Broaddus, from the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, is fifth and the only non-SAC school in the poll. Catawba rounds out the poll at sixth.
The Division II men's soccer championship provides for a 32-team, single-elimination tournament. The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Committee has divided the country into eight geographic regions. Four teams will be chosen from each of the eight regions.
