LMU Men’s Soccer Team Receives Award for GPA
HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The historical 2006 season continues to earn dividends for the Lincoln Memorial University men's soccer team. Recently the program received the NCAA Division II Final Four Team Top GPA Award. The Railsplitters boast an overall team GPA of 3.2 which was recognized as the highest among the 2006 final four men's soccer teams participating in first NCAA Fall National Championship Festival that took place recently in Pensacola, Florida.
"I am always especially proud when our players receive academic awards," said LMU Head Coach Helio D'Anna. "That is in the core of what a successful program should strive for, as much as the championships and overall victories."
The Railsplitters now await announcement from the NSCAA concerning qualifying for the NSCAA Team Academic Award. Both the men's and women's programs are expected to qualify for their 2006 academic performance.
