Lenoir-Rhyne’s Matthew Lee named Men’s Soccer Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne College freshman midfielder Matthew Lee (St. Simons Island, Ga./Glynn Academy) is this week's South Atlantic Conference men's soccer Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
Lee earns SAC men's soccer Player of the Week honors for the first time in his young career. Lee scored three goals last week, leading the Bears to wins in all three of their matches. Lenoir-Rhyne defeated Brevard, Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan in the last seven days.
In a 9-0 rout of Brevard at home Tuesday, Lee scored two goals.
He added one goal in the Bears' 3-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan
Sunday afternoon in Buckhannon, W.Va. Lee and his teammates have
led Lenoir-Rhyne (4-0 overall) to its best start since 1990.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
