LMU’s Renato Segalla Named Men’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lincoln Memorial University midfielder Renato Segalla has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 5, 2009, the league announced Tuesday.
Segalla, a senior from Santo Andre, Brazil, scored the
game-winning goal in the Railsplitters' 2-1 conference road-win
last week over arch-rival Carson-Newman College. Segalla's goal in
the 60th minute was his third game-winning-goal this season and
allowed the Railsplitters to remain unbeaten in South Atlantic
Conference play at 3-0.
On Sunday, Segalla and the Railsplitters picked up another region win when they traveled to Huntsville, Alabama and knocked off former Gulf South Conference rival, the University of Alabama-Huntsville, 2-1.
