Wingate’s Junior Nyemb Named Men’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Wingate University forward Junior Nyemb has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 26, 2009, the league announced Tuesday.
Nyemb, a senior from Douala, Cameroon, scored two goals last week as Wingate topped Lenoir-Rhyne 2-1 and tied Mars Hill 2-2.
Nyemb was named to the Daktronics men's soccer All-Southeast
Region second team in 2008. In addition, he is a two-time NSCAA
All-Appalachian Region first team selection. In 2008, Nyemb led the
Bulldogs with 16 goals on the season. He was second in the league
in goals scored.
A second team All-SAC selection in 2008, Nyemb was fourth in the league with 33 points. He was second in the league with six match-winners on the year. A top-flight student, Nyemb has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III men's soccer second team two consecutive seasons. Nyemb is a three-time All-SAC selection (second team in 2006 and 2008 and first team in 2007).
