Anderson Men, Lenoir-Rhyne Women on Top of Initial NCAA Soccer Regional Rankings
The Anderson men's and Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer programs have earned No. 1 ranking in the season's first NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, the association announced on Wednesday. The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process.
INDIANAPOLIS – The Anderson men's and Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer programs have earned No. 1 ranking in the season's first NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, the association announced on Wednesday. The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process.
Anderson is currently 9-4-2 overall and 4-4-1 in SAC matches. The Trojans are joined in the men's southeast region poll by No. 4 Queens and No. 7 Wingate.
Queens leads the SAC standings at 11-2 overall and 8-1 in the conference, while Wingate is second in the standings at 10-4 overall and 7-2 in the conference.
In the women's poll, Lenoir-Rhyne claimed the top spot on the back of a 10-3-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 SAC mark. L-R is followed by No. 5 Wingate, No. 7 Newberry and No. 9 Queens.
Wingate is second, Queens third, and Newberry tied for fifth, respectively, in the conference standings.
Regional rankings will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Committees up to NCAA Championship selections.
