The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne junior Ignacio de Goya has been named the first AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the 2017 season following games played Aug. 31-Sept. 3, the League announced today.

de Goya, a junior from Madrid, Spain, posted two goals and an assist to lead the Bears to a pair of victories to open up the 2017 season. He got his week going with a goal in the 53rd minute as Lenoir-Rhyne defeated USC Aiken 3-0 on Sept. 1.  Two days later against Lander he kicked in the game-winning goal and assisted on another to push the Bears to a 3-0 victory over Lander. In his two starts de Goya posted six shots, including three shots on goal. The award is his first Player of the Week honor this season.
