The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the fifth week of the 2021 season. Lenoir-Rhyne midfielder Victor Cascon was named the offensive player of the week, while Carson-Newman goalkeeper Bram Kaarsgaren was named defensive player of the week.
Cascon, a senior from Salamanca, Spain, led the Bears to a pair of SAC wins, including a double-overtime win over No. 4 Coker (2-1). He netted the game-winner for the Bears over Coker and then scored a goal and recorded an assist in Lenoir-Rhyne's 4-1 victory over Lincoln Memorial. His goal against Lincoln Memorial was the 30th of his career. He closed out the week with two goals and an assist for five points.
Kaarsgaren, a senior from Den Bosch, Netherlands, led the Eagles to a pair of shutout victories last week over Tusculum (1-0) and Queens (1-0). He recorded one save in 90 minutes of action against Tusculum and made four saves in 95 minutes between the goalposts versus Queens.
