Carson-Newman's Silva Named United Soccer Coaches Men's Soccer Division II National Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –  Carson-Newman midfielder Thaylan Silva was named the United Soccer Coaches Division II Men's Soccer National Player of the Week, the association announced on Wednesday (Oct. 20).

Silva, a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was named SAC Offensive Player of the Week after he led the Eagles to a pair of SAC victories last week over Lincoln Memorial (4-0) and Newberry (3-1). He scored two goals in each game, including the eventual game-winner against Lincoln Memorial. For the week he had four goals for eight points.
