South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2021 Men's Soccer Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Carson-Newman Eagles captured their tenth regular season title in program history after finishing the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer season with 27 points and a record of 9-2 in league play. With the win, the Eagles have earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship. 

Limestone earns the No. 2 seed after finishing conference play with an 8-2-1 record and 25 points. Lenoir-Rhyne earned the No. 3 seed after completing league play with a 7-3-1 record and 22 points. Anderson finished the season with 6-3-2 record in conference play and 20 points to take the No. 4 seed.

Queens earned the No. 5 seed with a 6-3-2 record and 20 points. Anderson and Queens finished tied, but Anderson won the tiebreaker by virtue of its 1-0 win over the Royals on Sept. 29.

Mars Hill picked up the No. 6 seed with a 5-4-2 record and 17 points. Rounding out the field is Catawba in the No. 7 seed with a 5-5-1 record and 16 points, and Coker is the No. 8 seed with a 5-6 record and 15 points.

The 2021 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Saturday, Nov. 6, before moving to Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Mathews in Matthews, N.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 12 and 14.   The South Atlantic Conference's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament.

Saturday, November 6 (at higher seeds)

Game 1: #1 Carson-Newman vs. #8 Coker, 7:30 p.m.
Game 2: #4 Anderson vs. #5 Queens, 7:00 p.m.
Game 3: #2 Limestone vs. #7 Catawba, 2:00 p.m.
Game 4: #3 Lenoir-Rhyne vs. #6 Mars Hill, 7:30 p.m.

Friday, November 12 (at Sportsplex at Matthews, Matthews, N.C.)

Game 5: winner game 1 vs. winner game 2, 5:00 p.m.
Game 6: winner game 3 vs. winner game 4, 8:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 14 (at Sportsplex at Matthews, Matthews, N.C.)

Game 7: winner game 5 vs. winner game 6, 4:00 p.m.
