Tusculum’s Carlos Garcia Named Men’s Tennis Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, SC -- Tusculum College senior Carlos Garcia (Caracas, Venezuela) is this week's South Atlantic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.

Carlos Garcia won his 21st and 22nd straight singles matches as he compiled a perfect 2-0 singles record. As a result of Garcia's leadership, the number 35 Pioneers picked up a pair of victories last week. Tusculum blanked Virginia-Wise 9-0 Saturday and stopped Brevard 9-0 Sunday.

Garcia lost only four games in two matches at the number three singles position. Tusculum (5-0 overall) visits Francis Marion University Thursday for a 2 p.m.

The SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
