Mars Hill’s Alessandro du Besse Named Men’s Tennis Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Mars Hill sophomore Alessandro du Besse, of Rome, Italy, has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 6.

During the week, du Besse, who plays No. 1 singles, helped the Lions to three league victories. It marks the second time the sophomore has earned the honor this season.

In a 5-1 win over Carson-Newman, du Besse claimed a three-set win over Guiseppe Schwarz, then won in straight sets against Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba. The Lions defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 7-2 and Catawba 9-0. In doubles, du Besse teamed up with Taylan Batuk to win three matches at the No. 3 spot.

The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is voted on by the league's Sports Information Directors.
