ROCK HILL, SC -- Mars Hill College's Alessandro du Besse has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 9, 2010.

Du Besse, a junior from Rome, Italy (Sapienza Universitá di Rome), went 2-0 last week with wins at Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne. Du Besse won his No. 1 singles match against Alex Macdonald of Catawba 6-4, 6-2. He defeated Brian Reid of Lenoir-Rhyne 6-2, 6-2.

He paired with Bradley Bassinger (Granite Falls, N.C.) at No. 2 doubles to defeat Mike Owens/Nate Summe of Lenoir-Rhyne 8-4.
