LMU’s Philipp Hoffman Named Men’s Tennis Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, SC -- Lincoln Memorial University's Philipp Hoffman has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 12, 2010. He wins for the second week in a row.

Hoffman, a freshman from Karlsruhe, Germany (Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, Karlsruhe), helped the Railsplitters complete a perfect 8-0 season in SAC action and win the SAC regular season title with wins over Mars Hill and Brevard last week. He defeated MHC's Koeche Smith 6-4, 6-2 and Brevard's Jonathan Kuhn 6-0, 6-3 at singles. With partner Tom Goossens he defeated MHC's Smith and Lucas Smith 8-6 and Brevard's Dorian Feron and Scott McCormick 8-0.

He improved his season record at No. 2 singles to 13-0 and No. 1 doubles to 15-0.
