2010 Food Lion SAC Men’s Tennis Match Postponed, Will Resume Sunday
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Top seed Lincoln Memorial holds the 2-1 advantage on Saturday afternoon over No. 2 Wingate University, before play was suspended in the 2010 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament held at the Rock Hill Tennis Center due to rain.
Lincoln Memorial held the 2-1 advantage after doubles. Hannes Ganss and Bastian Guenther put the Railsplitters up with their 8-2 victory on court No. 2 over Fernando Montemurro and Greg Machado. Wingate evened the score on court No. 3 as Andrew Owen and Matthew Lichtenstein teamed up to defeat Zack Jones and Gabor Heredi-Szabo, 8-3. The final doubles match came down to court No. 1, where Philipp Hoffman and Tom Goossens outlasted Bruno Pudence and Flavio Rathsam in a tightly-contested set, winning 9-8 (7-5) to give the Railsplitters the one point advantage heading into singles.
Play was suspended as the teams started singles matches due to inclement weather. Singles play will recommence on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m., with tournament play moving to the Memorial Courts at the Winthrop Athletic Complex.
