The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, Feb. 9

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queen University of Charlotte's Per-Erik Soler has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 2-8, the League announced today.

Soler, a junior from Nice, France, went 2-0 in singles play last week for the Royals.  He got his week started with a win over Newberry's Fernando Espana, 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 flight on Feb. 7.  The next day at No. 31 USC Aiken, Soler downed Ettore Damiani in the No. 1 flight, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.  Soler and doubles partner Andor Vas also picked up a win the No. 1 spot as the pair knocked off the Pacers' Damiani and Alejandro Andino, 8-2.  The honor is his first Player of the Week nod this season

Also nominated for Men's Tennis Player of the Week: Paul Michael Calhoun (Anderson), Pierce Hoover (Catawba) and Filippo Pezzoli (Wingate).
