The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, Mar. 23

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Jonas Winkelmann has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 16-22, the League announced today.

Winkelmann, a junior from Boblingen, Germany, went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles play for the Pioneers last week.  Against Wingate on March 20, Jonas teamed with brother Lukas Winkelmann to pick up an 8-4 win over Neal Towlson and Sebastian Hall at the top doubles flight.  In singles action, Jonas posted a 7-5, 6-3 win over Hall at the No. 3 flight.  The next day against Catawba, the Winklemann duo notched an 8-3 win over Pierce Hoover and Jack Mordey at the top flight. Jonas then notched a straight-set win over the Catawba Indians' Lukas Miller 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 3 position.  The award is his first Player of the Week selection this season.

Also nominated for Men's Tennis Player of the Week: Inaki Iriberry (Anderson), Marvin Mueller (Lenoir-Rhyne) and Amir Zari (Wingate).
