Wingate's Jones Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Matt Jones has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 4 through March 10, the Conference announced today.

Jones, a sophomore from Shrewsbury, United Kingdom, helped the No. 5 Bulldogs to a pair of 7-0 victories last week, defeating Limestone and Anderson. Jones and doubles partner Duncan Addison went 2-0 at No. 3 doubles, winning 6-2 versus Limestone and 6-4 against Anderson. He then picked up two big wins at No. 2 singles, defeating his Limestone opponent 6-3, 6-2 and winning 7-6, 6-1 against Anderson at No. 2 singles.  

This is Jones' first Player of the Week selection this season.
