Five SAC Men's Tennis Teams, Five Singles Players and Four Doubles Teams Ranked in Latest Oracle/ITA Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) releaed its latest Oracle/ITA Division II Men's Tennis Top 50 national ranking on Wednesday (April 3). Wingate earned the No. 5 spot in the ranking, followed by Queens at No. 19, Tusculum jumped to No. 30, Lenoir-Rhyne moved up to No. 33 and Anderson joined the ranking at No. 47.
The Bulldogs are 12-2 overall, with a 7-0 record in SAC play, while Queens is 10-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play. Tusculum is 11-4 overall and 5-2 in the SAC, with Lenoir-Rhyne at 13-3 overall and 4-2 in conference and Anderson is 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the SAC.
In addition to the national team ranking, the ITA also released its Oracle/ITA Top 75 singles ranking and Top 50 doubles ranking.
Newberry's Edison Ambarzumjan is the top ranked singles player at No. 6, while Anderson's Ignacio Bidegain is No. 16 and Wingate's Daniel Belsito is ranked No. 33. Queens' Agustin Aran moved up to No. 35, with Tusculum's David Akinpetide earning the No. 44 ranking.
Earning the No. 9 spot in the doubles ranking is Anderson's Spencer Brown and Adam Kush, followed by Wingate's team of Daniel Belsito and Josep Canyadell at No. 14. A pair of Queens' doubles teams came in at No. 27 and No. 48 with Paolo Bompieri and Joel Dunlap at No. 27 and Julian Bosch and Agustin Aran at No. 48.
