Wingate's Canyadell Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Josep Canyadell has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 25 through April 1, the Conference announced today. 

Canyadell, a sophomore from Lleida, Spain, went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles and No. 4 singles last week, including picking up a pair of wins against Division I foe Charlotte. Canyadell and doubles partner Daniel Belsito, ranked No. 26 nationally, picked up a 6-4 win against Catawba and 6-4 win versus Charlotte. He also added a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles against Catawba and a 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 win against Charlotte.

This is Canyadell's second Player of the Week selection this season.
