The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2019 Men's Tennis Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Wingate finished the regular season with a 9-1 South Atlantic Conference record and earned SAC Regular Season Title, it was determined today as the Conference season came to an end this evening.  This is the second consecutive regular season championship for the Bulldogs, who will enter next week's SAC Men's Tennis Championship as the No. 1 seed.

Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne both finished the year in a tie for second place at 8-2 in conference play. The Royals earned the No. 2 seed in next week's championship by way of a 6-1 win over the Bears during the regular season, giving Lenoir-Rhyne the No. 3 seed. Tusculum slides into the No. 4 spot with a 7-3 SAC record, while Anderson will be the No. 5 seed after finishing the regular season with a 6-4 record.

Coker and Newberry both finished the regular season at 5-5, but the Cobras took the No. 6 seed by way of a 5-2 regular season win over the Wolves, making Newberry the No. 7 seed. Catawba rounds out the field of eight for the championship at No. 8 with a 3-7 record.

The 2019 South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Monday (April 15) before moving to the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on April 18 and 19.  The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:

Monday, April 15 (at higher seeds)

Match 1: #8 Catawba at #1 Wingate, 2:30pm
Match 2: #5 Anderson at #4 Tusculum, 2:00pm
Match 3: #7 Newberry at #2 Queens, TBA
Match 4: #6 Coker at #3 Lenoir-Rhyne, 2:00pm

Thursday, April 18 (at Rock Hill Tennis Center)
