Lenoir-Rhyne's Atkinson Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Rhodri Atkinson has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week six of the 2021 season, the Conference announced today.

Atkinson, a junior from Gloucester, England, went undefeated on the week in both singles and doubles play as he led the Bears to wins over Catawba and UVA Wise. He defeated his opponents 6-4, 7-5 (Catawba), and 6-1, 6-0 (Wise) at No. 1 singles, extending his match winning streak to five in singles play. He also went 2-0 in doubles play last week.

This is Atkinson's first Player of the Week selection this season.
