Tusculum's Atkinson Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Rhodri Atkinson has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week seven of the 2023 season, the Conference announced today.

Atkinson, a graduate student from Longhope, England, went undefeated last week at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with conference wins over Carson-Newman and Coker. Atkinson and doubles partner Will Gee picked up two hard-fought wins with a 7-5 win over Carson-Newman and a 7-5 win over Coker. He then earned two impressive wins at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0 versus Carson-Newman and 6-1, 6-0 against Coker.
