Queens Sweeps South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Daniel Wallis was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Martin Knauer was named AstroTurf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested February 11 through February 17, the Conference office announced today.

Wallis, a senior from Guildford, United Kingdom, posted a first place time of 8:17.58 in the 3,000-meter run at the JDL DMR Invite last week. His time was an NCAA Division II provisional mark and ranks him No. 11 in the nation in the event. 

Knauer, a sophomore from Wolnzach, Germany, was the top Division II placer in the shot put at the JDL DMR Invite last week. His throw of 17.12 meters earned him second place and was an NCAA Division II provisional mark.

This is Wallis' first Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, while this also marks the third Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Hampton.
