Lenoir-Rhyne Sweeps SAC AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Marlin Davis was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Daniel Nicholson was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the five week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.

Davis, a freshman from Indian Land, S.C., ran the top time and won first place in the 200-meter dash at the Roanoke D1 Invite last weekend. His time of 22.10 seconds not only won the event, but it is the second fastest time in the SAC this season.

Nicholson, a sophomore from Statesville, N.C., won the men's pole vault at the Roanoke D1 Invite this past weekend with a leap of 4.35 meters. His jump was the second highest in the SAC this season, and he now holds the top two marks in the conference at 4.45 meters  and 4.35 meters. 

The award is Davis' first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Nicholson's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
