Carson-Newman's Moore Named 2020 SAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Devon Moore has been named the 2020 South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced on Tuesday (March 24).
Moore, a junior from Baxley, Ga., won the 2020 SAC Indoor Championship in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash and was an NCAA Division II National Qualifier in both events. He posted the fourth fastest 60-meter time in the nation at 6.69 seconds and the tenth fastest 200-meter time in the nation at 21.24 seconds. He was a 2020 USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region selection, was named USTFCCCA National Indoor Athlete of the Week on Jan. 15, and was a three-time SAC AstroTurf Indoor Track Athlete of the Week selection.
In addition to winning the SAC titles in both the 60m and 200m dashes, Moore won the 60m at the ETSU Track & Field Invitational and the 200m at the Finn Pincus Invitational and the VMI Classic. This is the second SAC Track & Field Athlete of the Year award for Moore who was named the 2019 SAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
The SAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year award is determined by a vote by the league's head coaches.
