The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– Queens' Jan Lukas Becker was named the South Atlantic Conference Astroturf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Wingate's Tom Kalliske was named the South Atlantic Conference Astroturf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the fifth week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today. 

Becker, a junior from Saarbruecken, Germany took first place in the 3,000 meter run at the Camel City Invitational with a time of 8:07.02. With that time, Becker hit a Division II provisional mark and is now ranked 14th nationally.

Kalliske, a senior from Saarmund, Germany finished in eighth place in the shot put with a season-best throw of 14.48 meters at the Camel City Invitational; while also placing 16th in the weight throw with a toss of 13.09 meters.

This award is Becker's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Kalliske's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
