The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– Tusculum's Widchard Guervil was named the South Atlantic Conference Astroturf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Lenoir-Rhyne's  Dalton Hatley was named the South Atlantic Conference Astroturf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the seventh week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today. 

Guervil, a senior from Fort Myers, Fla., took first place in the 60 meter dash at the USC Indoor Open with a time of 6.69 seconds; and now has the third-fastest time in Division II. In the 200 meter, Guervil placed second with a time of 21.13, tying his school record & still holds the second-fasted time in Division II. He now has seven wins and two second-place finishes in nine events this season.

Hatley, a junior thrower from Oakboro, N.C., finished in fourth place in the shot put at the JDL DMR Invitational with a season-best throw of 15.06 meters.

This award is Guervil's fifth Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Hatley's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
