Carson-Newman’s Morris, Wingate’s Watson Named Runners Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Wingate University's Jayce Watson and Aubrey Morris of Carson-Newman College have been named the South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week announced league officials Monday.
Watson earns this honor for a second week in a row and fifth time this season, while Morris has been named Runner of the Week for a second time this year.
Watson, a 5-8, 135-pound junior from Millersport, Ohio, finished 11th of 327 runners at the Disney World Classic in Florida. The Millersport High School product finished with a time of 25:57 in the 8,000-meter race. Watson helped lead Wingate to a 17th place team finish in the 41-squad field.

Morris, a junior from Chattanooga, Tenn., finished second at the Belmont Abbey Invitational. Morris posted her best time of the season with 18:14 as she led the Lady Eagles to the team title. Morris was one of three C-N runners to finish in the top 10.
The SAC Cross Country Runners of the Week are selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
