Five SAC Schools Ranked in USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced it's 2018 Southeast Region Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll on Tuesday (Aug. 28).

Five teams from the South Atlantic Conference were represented in the poll, including preseason favorite, Queens in the No. 1 spot. The Royals are coming off a historic season in 2017, where they finished second at regionals before placing a program-best sixth at the NCAA Championships. 

Anderson checked in at No. 4 and No. 5 belongs to Mars Hill. Anderson returns six of its top seven athletes from last year's group with took fourth at regionals, while Mars Hill finished fifth at last year's regionals.

Rounding out the SAC teams in the poll were Wingate at No. 6 and Lincoln Memorial at No. 10.

The SAC cross country season gets underway on Friday, Aug. 31.
