Wingate's Kipchumba Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets competed in during the week of Sept. 24 through Sept. 30. Wingate's Micah Kipchumba was named the runner of the week. 

Kipchumba, a sophomore from Nakura, Kenya, was the top Division II runner and third overall finisher at the USC Upstate Invitational. He crossed the finish line at 25:55.5, finishing 20 seconds ahead of any other Division II runner in the 8k event. Thanks to Kipchumba's leadership the Bulldogs came in second as a team, outpacing several Division I schools, including USC Upstate, The Citadel and Winthrop.

This is Kipchumba's second consecutive Runner of the Week honor this season.
