Wingate Holds No. 2 Spot in National Rankings; Anderson, Catawba Also Ranked
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – October 8, 2025 – Three South Atlantic Conference men's cross country programs are featured in the latest USTFCCCA Division II National Coaches' Poll, highlighted by Wingate University holding steady among the nation's elite at No. 2. Anderson University checks in at No. 26, while Catawba College makes its season debut at No. 29.
Wingate continues to be the Southeast Region's top-ranked program after another strong showing at the Paul Short Run Gold Race. Despite a slight dip from the No. 1 position it had held since the preseason, the Bulldogs remain firmly among the national championship contenders.
Anderson continues its climb up the regional ranks, earning a spot at No. 26 nationally following a consistent month of competition that has seen the Trojans strengthen their depth behind veteran leadership.
Catawba breaks into the top 30 for the first time this season at No. 29 after a series of impressive team finishes that have drawn attention from voters across the country. The Catawba squad becomes the third SAC men's program to be featured in the poll this season
The Bulldogs, Trojans, and Catawba Indians will all be in action later this month as the regular season winds down ahead of the 2025 SAC Cross Country Championships.
