SAC Softball Weekly Awards go to Mars Hill’s Morris, L-R’s Millwood
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill pitcher/designated player Taylor Morris has been voted the SAC Softball Player of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Dawon Millwood was tabbed the conference's Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Morris has been a major factor in Mars Hill's fast start this season. In eight games last week, the junior posted seven home runs, 22 RBI, a .625 batting average and a slugging percentage of 1.54.
The Weddington, N.C. native also contributed in the circle as she posted 25 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.25. Morris is currently 3-1 on the season with 28 innings pitched.

Millwood, the reigning SAC Pitcher of the Year, dominated in the circle for the Bears, tallying 26 strikeouts and a 0.88 ERA in five games. The senior totaled just five walks in 24 innings pitched.
In her first start of the season, the Hixson, Tenn., native tossed a complete game, allowing only four hits while striking out nine in a 6-1 victory over Belmont Abbey.
