Mars Hill’s Haithcox, Tusculum’s Johnson Named SAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill center fielder Natalie Haithcox has been selected as the SAC Softball Player of the Week, while Tusculum's Elizabeth Johnson was named the conference's Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Haithcox is currently leading the SAC with 43 total bases and a slugging percentage of 1.132. Her week was highlighted by a three-for-three performance, which included two home runs and a double, against King on Saturday.
For the week, the redshirt senior posted four doubles, two home runs and a .562 batting average.

Johnson went the distance in all four of her starts this week in
the circle and earned the win in each of them. The junior totaled
27 innings pitched, struck out 14 batters and finished with a 0.78
ERA.
The Greenville, Wisc., native ended strong with an eight-inning performance against Lees-McRae, striking out six batters and leading the Pioneers to a 3-2 victory. This is the third time in her career Johnson has been received SAC Pitcher of the Week honors.
