SAC Softball Weekly Awards go to Tusculum’s Umberger, Wingate’s Paul
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum shortstop Lindsay Umberger has been chosen as the SAC Softball Player of the Week, while Wingate's Miranda Paul was tabbed SAC Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Umberger was a major contributor for Tusculum's four-game winning streak. The junior totaled eight runs scored, eight hits, two home runs and a batting average of .471 for the week.
Not only has the Wisconsin native produced at the plate, but Umberger was responsible for nine putouts and did not commit an error in the field. The shortstop currently leads the team in four offensive categories.

Paul led the Bulldogs to a perfect 4-0 record for the week, as she
finished with three complete games and four victories. In the wins,
the freshman totaled 17 strikeouts and walked just four
batters.
The Virginia Beach, Va., native closed out the week with a 0.56 ERA, giving up just two earned runs in four starts.
