SAC Softball Weekly Awards go to L-R’s Mauhar, Tusculum’s Johnson
ROCK HILL, S.C. - As the softball season reaches the final week of March, Lenoir-Rhyne's Marie Mauhar has been tabbed SAC Player of the Week, while Tusculum's Elizabeth Johnson has be named SAC Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday.
Mauhar paced the Bears with a .667 batting average and five doubles as Lenoir-Rhyne captured three victories for the week. The outfielder's week was highlighted by a two-for-three performance and the game's only RBI in a 2-0 victory over Wingate.
The freshman also added a three-for-three game where she pounded two doubles and drove in the only run to propel the Bears over Carson-Newman, 1-0.

For the second time this season and fourth time in her career,
Johnson has been tabbed SAC Pitcher of the Week. Johnson went the
distance in all four of Tusculum's games, as she struck out 15
batters and totaled a 1.40 ERA.
The junior's best performance came in the first game of a double header against in-state rival Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday. Johnson gave up just five hits, struck out five and earned the win as the Pioneers knocked off LMU, 6-2.
